ARE MATCHING SETS IMPORTANT?
In short yes! Ideally tyres the tyres on your car should be replaced at the same time and be a complete set. If this is not possible it is critical that tyres should be at least installed in front and rear pairs. Installing different tyres on the left and right sides of the care can significantly affect the handling of your vehicle.

WHEEL ALIGNMENTS
The misalignment of wheel, steering or suspension can greatly affect the handling of your vehicle and cause rapid and uneven tyre wear. Signs of this include the steering pulling in one direction and when this happens you need an urgent wheel alignment. A wheel alignment should be done every 6 months or every 10,000-15,00kms.
WHY A WHEEL BALANCE MATTERS
An out of balance wheel may not only affect your tyre’s wear but also the smoothness of ride and your control of your car. Tyres should always be balanced when they are installed and when rotated Signs that you need a wheel balance include an uneven ride or vibration through the steering wheel
THE IMPORTANCE OF TYRE TREAD
Another important tyre tip
The minimum safe tread for a tyre is 1.6mm. Anything under this is illegal and dangerous.
Quality tyres have tread wear indicators and the tyre to make it easy to identify when the tread is wearing near the minimum level
Have your tyre store show you the thread wear indicator
Check regularly for uneven tread wear
Rotate tyres to achieve even wear and maximum life. We are happy to advice on the ideal kilometres between rotations.

MORE TIPS FOR YOUR TYRES
Tyre pressure
Tyre pressure affects the handling and life of a tyre.
Here’s a couple of tips:
Invest in a good quality tyre gauge and keep it in in your car glove box
The recommended tyre pressure for your vehicle should be located on the inside edge of the driver’s door, or in some cases in the glove box
All tyres deflate over time so check your tyre pressure regularly, ideally this is weekly
Check tyre pressure when tyres are cold
Don’t forget to check the pressure of your spare tyre
Incorrect pressure affects the handling and life of a tyre

Matching sets

Tyre rotation
We recommend tyre rotation – or swapping their position on the car – every 10,000kms or 6 months – whichever comes sooner. This will ensure you get the optimum life from your tyres.
Do-it-yourself visual check
There are a few simple things you can do visually to get the most out of your tyres:
Check for:
- Uneven wear
- Cracks or bulges on the sidewalls or tread
- Embedded objects
- Missing valve caps
